I played around today with a variety of settings on my 30d/28-135. One thing that I picked up on rather quickly, was that panning a bike from the starting line to the 60 foot mark (or thereabouts) involved dramatic differences in the amount of light I was taking in because I went from having the sun at my back to having it in my face as the bike passed me.   Out of focus, but a cool shot.   S.C.
