I took this image in the Auckland Domain (Auckland, New Zealand) in February.
There is a cool building there with a statue and only a few lights. Makes for some cool low-light shooting.
I have had mixed reviews on this one, which is why I'm posting it here. Comments etc would be much appreciated.
A few things before you comment;
1. The graining is more due to the JPEG compression I used to downsize it for the web, than noise/grain due to high ISO settings. I shot this at an ISO of 800. The BW stuff seems not to like being JPEG'ed (it was done using a web-based re-sizer)
2. A lot of detail has been lost in reducing the pixel size of the image. So the statue doesn't show too much detail. The full size shot is very detailed.
I personally liked the composition of this shot, but others have really disliked that part of it, they've felt that there is too much black space above the lamp post etc. What do you think?
Thanks.
Cliff

I think the black above the lamp post goes well with the statue looking skyward.
