I did a test the other day of my NFL shots with the 1D (classic) which had the bad flash show and I saw that the green levels were too high. I lowered them and the photo's started to look better. All other shots, at any lighting and white balance condtions always looked off. Maybe the sensor was messed up on it. Maybe it was dropped in water? Who knows. i am glad the ebay person was honest and took it back.

My son has my 10D and has been using it, taking better pictures than I ever took with it. Still a great camera and more powerful than we give it credit.

Not bad, but I think the lens helps. My 10D with the 28-105mm and 1600 ISO would look bad. at f/2.8 1600 is probably very clean due to that fact. My shots with my 10D and my L lens always looks less grainy at high iso.

Earlier 1D models suffered from a green cast on pictures. They were fixed with downloadable tone curves. Mine does not exhibit this, but I'm sure one of the previous owners had it fixed.

The 10D produces a picture pleasing to the eye while the 5D captures evidentuary detail.
I'm an artist not a cop.

That is one of the better quotes that I have seen on this forum as of late......well said.

I've had the 10D since it first came out and absolutely love it. I recently bought the 5D and am very happy with it as well, although I am really still learning it. I must say, I do tend to revert back to my faithful 10D a lot of the time.

However, major drawbacks of the 10D IMO are the slow startup (I can live with it), the small LCD (again, I can live with it), and the one which really drives me crazy... the fact that when shooting RAW+JPG, the JPG is embedded in the RAW file and not a separate image. Otherwise, I love my 10D and don't think I would ever part with it (except perhaps if my wife or daughters develop an interest in photography (not likely).

I love my 10D and use it as a backup for my 20D. It produces images with lovely color.

my tenner's become a second body. sometimes there no reason to take 5d out and i shoot with 10d+28-75mm. its sensor is still clear as new unlike 5ds one.
i wanted to sell/trade it but my father wants a digital camera and i think i'm leaving it for him.

Another happy 10D user here - see no reason to "upgrade" to a 20D or 30D that actually feel less well built to me. My photography can live with the limitations of the 10D.

Agree... Same situation here. :D

Still using my 10D and have had no problems with it.

Unlikely that I will ever want to print larger than A4 size so it's still got enough pixels for me.

I 1D Mk II or III would still be very nice though..... Ah well, I'll just have to dream for now.

10D is Cool, great workhorse. Only problem was that the flash does not work anymore. But as I use a Speedlite anyway that is not a problem.
Never considered the 20/30D viable enough as upgrades. 1D III will be my upgrade and is already ordered--now just waiting for the e-mail from B&H.

I can say that 10D is really nice piace of equipment and I enjoy of it every time when I take pictures. Only thing what I miss is the AF accurancy when I compared that to the EOS 3 but I already learn to live with it. I still waiting deacent upgrade maybe the new 5D MKII can be the next camera for me.

Happy shooting
