For anyone considering moving up from a 20D to a 5D (as I was for over a year), if you've got the means - don't hesitate! I bought a new 5D a week ago, along with a 24-105 IS L and went out on Saturday for my first real shoot in good conditions. Here are 2, at 24mm and the other at 105mm, that I really like...

From one end of the range (1/250s f/11.0 at 24.0mm iso100):

To the other (1/160s f/5.6 at 105.0mm iso100):

Here's a 100% crop from the previous photo:

Love it!

Thanks guys. A "20 months interest free" deal was the thing that tipped it over the edge for me, as was POTN, of course.

Great colors and very sharp. Bringing the same combo (5D, 24-105 and 35 1.4) for upcoming 10 day spring break trip to London and Paris.

Have a great day

By the time that I can afford a 5D, a 6D will be out. Paying for my MBA school and my wife's MBA school drains anyone's money. Plus out trip to China wiped out any chance of me getting a 5D this year. Plus I have been eyeing the 70-200IS 2.8 for my bday present to myself.

Awesome! So that is what '24mm' is really like. I wish I had a 5D...

I like the 1st pic. Nice angle! :D
Too bad it has those trees in the picture.. without them it would fool the viewers.. thinking the tower is much taller. :D

Congratulations Simon, its a nice combo and nice pictures. I moved up to the same combo from a 10D about a year ago and have not looked back since.
