No you're absolutely right. If you're shooting at f/28 then yes, the 16-35 is a must. I was just saying, at such a wide angle, if you're only shooting landscapes, I think the 17-40L is plenty good. You're probably going to be shooting at f/8 or lower anyway.

Thank you very much, even if i use f8-f32 i still like to have f2.8 lens, and 10-22 or 24-70 [24-105] are all great as well for wide.
I found that all lenses are great for landscape if i stop down to f8 or lower, even kit lens perform great as well.

the 17 40 is amazing on my 10d. so from an owner of the 24 105 ans 17 40 there i shouldn't sell it. i'll just have to fine some more money. the res is the same on the 17 40 as the 16 35 the only difference is the f2.8 and ur right when woud u use that on a landscape. i could understand that is its the sh*t in low light but then it should be for another 300. the mark 2 is most definatly worth it as i have tried it and it is amaing, but then thats alot on money, and i'm only a student. cheerz

24-105 f/2.8 (IS or non IS).. unlikely anytime soon.

24-70 f/2.8 IS - far more likely, but expect it to be pretty darn expensive.
