I took my camera along on a Sunday ride with a bunch of guys that usually meet up. Tried panning for the first time and that didnt work at all but stil had some turn out. Let me know what you think.

Panning doesn't seem to work very well in turns. The movement around the corner seems to mess with it. Panning seems to work best shooting when the object is going in one direction.

Only suggestion is dont use Aperture Priority mode as you did here...

Use TV or the sports mode or Manual is actually best...

I shoot in "M" only when shooting.

Yeah Ive heard TV is alot better for this type of stuff but I wasnt really where to set the shutter speed. My 28-135 seems to really like f8.0 so I set it there and did my best.

Just a base line, starting point, not a rule but a place to start..

Put it on TV and set the shutter about 1/320 or 1/400 for panning and work your way lower based on your results...

For shots where they are coming at you start about 1/1000 and work your way down based on your results...

Like I said to everyone this is a starting point not a rule of thumb or the perfect settings..

JUST a starting point, once you achieve sharp images then adjust your shutter speeds slower...
