It is not "awesome" at all, it is just very good (which is not quite the same thing).

Thanks people,
I happen to know what I was buying :) Originaly I was waiting for successor, but PMA revealed none in this category, so I bought 30d for 900 euro ater rebates, +100 for 2 yr. extended warranty. I might be shopping by the end of the year again :D

HUH? Coming from a 400D user? I am confused....... or was this a bad attempt at humour? :D

I've been to the Awesome Club and the 30D was there. You know not of which you speak, so don't unless you have a nicer comment for a new owner.

Have to say....I made the same jump a few months ago (300D to 30D), and I couldn't be happier. I've gotten so many more shots with the 30D (AI Servo + * button focus + joystick focus points + large buffer = better shots of my nephew at Christmas).

I am so satisfied with my 30D that I honestly think the only way I'll be upgrading is if I start doing enough paid shoots a year to justify two bodies, in which case the second body would probably be a 5D or 1-series body.
