SD800 Question

I just got my SD800 today. Awesome camera btw. Anyways, I had a concern if all SD800 made a weird electrical noise when you push the shutter half way to focus.
I push the button halfway.
Makes a weird electrical noise (like something is fizzing out)
Then beeps to confirm focus
Push the button all the way and it takes a picture.

There is nothing wrong with the picture. I just never heard any kind of camera making that noise. I own a sony point and shoot, 30d, and a a75. All of them just beep when focus is acquired.

Is this normal?

Speaking of hearing noise. I just noticed that the lcd screen itself is pretty noisy. Its as if a tv has a bad connection and its kinda noisy.
any ideas? should i just exchange?

For the acooustic noise, take a look at Menu Screen 3 where you can set the custom sounds for various camera events.

well, i went to circuit city and wolf camera and both of their display models made that loud noise. i guess thats how they are made.
