Hey All,
I am about to order 3 Alienbees B800's, and was wondering what i needed to trigger them wirelessly? I have 2 PW II's on the way along with the Sekonic light meter. Do I need another PW to use with my camera if i want to trigger two of them wirelessly? Do I need somekind of adapter for the PW to the Bees? Thanks in advance

For studio use, you can get away with only two PW units - one on the camera and one on one of the AB flash units. The other AB units can trigger of the flash from the first using their built-in optical slaves.

If, on the other hand, you are taking the lights to a place where there are lots of folks with their cameras using flash then you might want a PW receiver for each light. That way you can be "insulated" from the flashes going off randomly and your flash units will only respond to the PW transmitter on your camera.

ABs are great lights, and PW are awsome units... Beside for more PW units, seems like you got it covered. The Sekonic meter is also an excellent "must have" IMO. Make sure and learn to use it well.

Do you have plent of light modifiers? I like Grids, barn doors, brollys, softboxes, reflectors and stands. I am also adding a Vagabon 150 and a beauty dish to my light modifier collection. Having lights is one thing, but accessories to mold and modify light IMO are also very important.

I checked the B&H website.

PW units come with the cables you need.

That connects the unit to the strobe. The other goes right onto the camera. The other cables are for more advance features like connecting the PW to the camera to make the camera fire. That you can always buy later, since you dont NEED it, to use them.

That is NOT the cable you need to hook a Pocket Wizard to an Alien Bee unit. You need a cable with 1/8 inch "miniphone" plugs on BOTH ends. I made my own from the plethora of audio gear that I have laying around, but you can find these cables easily.
