I have a Raw file that I cant open in CS2.
When go I to open, and where the file is , it isnt highlighted as a readable file, if I pick all documents as a choice the file does high light.

After I click on the raw file, a window comes up called, Photoshop Raw OPtions,
when I click ok the photo opens and looks like this

see attachments

Why is this happening? This is the first time I will be using Raw from MY camera
I went to a friend s house and loaded one of her raw photos and it didnt do this, the photo was recognized with "all readable documents". And the photo opened open in a window for editing.

I cant figure this out. Im using a MacBook. And use a Sandisk card reader (all Jpegs dnload fine)

Did you update CS2 for the latest plug in for the 30D?

Pamela,

Can you open any RAW files or is it just the one that won't open? I had this problem when I went I first got my 30D. I solved the problem by downloading the most recent updates. Check it out here:

I hope this helps

I would suggest that you download Camera Raw 3.6 and that should solve your problem.

I first had the XT and everything was fine, CS2 would read my XT RAW files. Then I bought my 30D and CS2 wouldn't read the 30D RAW files. Once I downloaded Camera Raw 3.6 everything ran smooth again.

Pamela, did you upgrade CS2 when it came out, as the first version didn't support the 350D/XT in the first verison of Camera Raw for CS2. You needed version 3.1 if I'm not mistaken. Now things have moved further on, so if you haven't upgraded your Camera Raw plugin since you installed CS2, it won't work.

Petra

I just downloaded the 3.7 for my CS2. I hope it was the right one.
It does work now. And I did save the old plugin , just in case.

Was I suppost to use 3.6?

Thankyou
Edit

I went to check on plugin info
the with in the name - it says powerpc file- is this the correct plugin name for mac? This is listed under the work kind.

Ah, didn't know there was a newer version than 3.6. No, you keep 3.7 and if it works, then all the better! :D
