I have outgrown my present website and have decided I need a custom website and hope to build it myself; alas I have next to no knowledge about how to go about building a professional looking and functional site.

I have been researching different web gallery packages and have decided on Gallery2 as the one to use as the basis for my site.
I have decided on what I would like included in my site and it is detailed below... I'm stuck though on where to go to start and to find some easy to understand information to allow me to get it happening - most of the info I have found is fairly tech heavy which is going way over my head.
If anyone can assist with how I should go about this task I'd be grateful.

it's not so clear what you're trying to do, or what your problem is. You can't use that software and need help?

Yeah, I'm not so sure at what point you're getting hung up. Maybe we could start with a couple specific questions?

I'm assuming you have a host and have been able to successfully install Gallery2. Most of what you're asking can be done directly in Gallery2; I'm also assuming you know this and is why you chose to go with Gallery.

If you're familiar with HTML and CSS, the design elements you mention can be implemented in the templates ond stylesheet for the theme you're using.
