This is a New Zealand Parrot, the Kea
shot was taken on an overcast day, iso 800 @ 400mm with a 100-400

Nice detail on the head. I don't think I've ever seen a picture of this bird.

Mine's not a great photo (took it with a point 'n' shoot digital several years ago, if that's a passable excuse), but it is another Kea for you to look at:

Very nice, There are some very interesting birds in new zealand - I came accross quite a few on my travels but unfortunatley, only managed one decent capture.
