I went out this week to a wildlife refuge that I hoped had a good population of wild Ring-necked Pheasants.....I was definitely not disappointed. Here's a few shots that I was able to get.

Very nice series. I really like the colors on these. For me the last one does it. Some may say it is too busy, but I like the pose and the colors, even the background colors.

I like these. The colorful subject stands out nicely from the bg. Great pose in #3 and you composed it beautifully. Great work Mike.

Great pictures. Were you walking around, car blind, or in a blind? Or were they just friendly(ha ha)?

TenaCJed........I't the one I like best, also, but I kinda like #4 also.

D.C......It's pretty much impossible to walk up on a wild pheasant, and get any decent shots. I generally drive thru the wildlife refuge, and shoot from the window (using a bean bag as a rest) or jump out, set the camera on the hood of the truck and shoot from there. My nature, pheasant are a spooky bird, and will not pose for very long.

Thanks everyone, for all the kind words. I really do appreciate all the comments.
