Went to the Omaka airshow today, and although not all of the aircraft can be called "fighters" there were an awful lot of interesting craft you don't see everyday.

e.g. Corsair doing it's wingbending partypiece:

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

nice shots. you don't get to see a corsair doing that every day (not in NZ anyway)

did you enjoy the airshow?

yes, it was a really good day, bit of a lottery with the weather but turned out very well. The flight from Wellington was definately a good move - flying into the show airfield & parking up with the rest of the aircraft was great.

Buckets. I'll have to see if I can get to a webserver to upload some more rather than inserting.

Excellent series. You are the master of the shutter for those beautiful prop effects! (I'm not worthy.) I like the triplane formation shot. Now that is a rare sight.

thanks guys - not sure about "master of the shutter" there were plenty of really blurry shots deleted! I've decided that IS is useful for moving targets (mode 2) and reasonably static ones alike so at least something was learned.
