Congrats on the new camera. You sure needed it, the S2 is probably worn out after all the great shots youve gotten with it so far.

Come back and visit us often.

Congrats on your new toy Dave. Very impressive duck shot. The first one is a good picture of the camera. ;)

Don't be afraid. I jumped from SD700 to DSLR with absolutely no hassle whatsoever. A camera isn't hard to figure out. Remembering to set your ISO down after having it at 3200 is the biggest problem I've run into on a DSLR.

I've been having that problem ALOT lately on my S3. I turn it on and take some shots and THEN realize that its at 800. Either my girlfriend is playing april fools jokes on me, or I hit the button accidentally. I never have it at 800, and it would take 5 or so accidental hits of the ISO button to get it to 800. Hmmmm ... Im thinking it may be the girlfriend. lol

If you save your settings, each time it is turned on will be the way you like it... regardless of who was goofing around with it.

Care to share your reasons for selling the S3? The problem with mine is nothing in Oklahoma to take pictures of. Maybe you are fortunate enough to be in a scenic bubble of the state. :)

I apologize, I read the model wrong. I certainly would understand moving to DSLR. For some reason I was thinking of that new hybrid from Canon.

haha, main reason is that it just doesn't give the types of images I want to take (blurred backgrounds and stuff like that), there is nothing wrong with the image quality on the S3, I've sold dozens of them on shutterstock, I just want to step it up a little bit

I agree there isn't much in Oklahoma, I tend to just drive out in the country and find an oil rig or pump jack to take pictures of and go from there
