a good day out drifting on saturday
i was having a bad photo day - quite a few of my shots arent as sharp as i would like them to be
this is some of the best shots
tell me what you think of them

Last 2 are great ..well done
Got a couple of these guys from the V8,s doing their demos but nothing as good as these

its not really racing, more a burnout comp crossed with a tarmac rally
or automotive dressage

yep, raws processed using DPP, +1 contrast and colour
i have seen another photographer's from the same event and i feel that his are oversaturated, it may be my monitor vs yours though (mine isnt calibrated)

taken from our front row seats of the main straight grandstand..coming out of Ford fast break corner..
Julie and I were trying to workout where yours were taken from as one of them has grandstands in the b/g but they might be from the go kart track??

after trying to explain it i decided to hit google earth and draw a picture, hope its clear enough
the line near each number shows where the camera was pointing when the photo was taken
Ford corner is in the bottom left of the screen, Cat the top left and the main straight is to the left side
Drift events generally use the short course, except for the demos during large events like the V8s

can I ask what camera and lens you used? I drift over here and was going to get into photoing my mates when I am not driving.

that day i was using my 350d and 1dmk2n and my sigma 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8
lenses got switched between bodys a few times throughout the day
EXIF info is still attached to the photos too
