I have a horizontal line that is persisting on the sensor filter, visible on low F stop images very sharply (Needless to say in a very distracting way).
What should I do?
Has anyone had this boo boo before? Will Canon or local camera shop, replace the IR sensor fitler for a reasonable fee? Do I have any other options:o

Did you do anything which may have led to it being scratched?

Post an example?

Dry cleaning method.
Usually had no problem. Guess the lens cleaning paper was pierced by the cleaning wand.
I am ashamed enough please don't make me feel more miserables, I need a clue as to what to do and not .....:o

Don't be scare.....
There is nothing more to do with that scratched line.....
Go to photographic store to buy a bottole of lens cleaning liquid.....
Change the dry method in to wet cleaning method.....
Some time when I use dry cleaning......
It will make a line out too.....
But after using wet....
The line have gone!!!

Here is an example.
I have over sharpen the image to see the lines that are marked by flash. Other points are garden variety dirt and are cleaned later on. If you don't see the scratches clearly or in hallo form there is a good reason.
I got eclipse but not yet applied. Doubt if that can clean scratch either.

I don't think there is a plastic layer......
I think that is a Glass layer.....
With a very thin coated oxide layer or some compound......
That layer is hard.....

I have cleaned it several times (Dry). Everything is variable except the lines with twisted head that persist.
