Cormorant taken at a local pool over the weekend,1st pic is the original the other 2 are crops of the same.Anybody know if it is the male or the female ? Thanks.

Very nice, I like pic#3 the best of the series.:)...I am not familiar with birds in the UK, however, I don't think there is a difference between the male and female of this species.

Excellent shots. I like the second one best (the first crop). Very sharp with beautiful colours. :-)

Our Cormorants are very much like that, though with a more orange bill.

Thanks for the comments.Nothing in the birds books that i have regarding sexing,after a google search it looks likely they have to be surgically sexed !

Man, I have never been able to get close enough to these and tell that they were so ugly....LOL
