Maybe I'm being paranoid but I just got my S2 back from Canon service and the file number sequence has been changed. Before I sent it in the last picture I took was number IMG_1937. When I got my camera back the first picture I took was number IMG_7240.
I sent it in because it was making a clicking sound when I turned it on as the lens extended and when I zoomed in and out. I also told the guy on the phone before I sent it in that my LCD monitor wasn't working. I normally shoot through the viewfinder so I rarely use the LCD. He reminded me that I could turn the LCD on/off by pressing the Disp. button on back. Embarrassed, I thanked him and didn't mention it in the letter that accompanied my camera when I sent it in. I only mentioned the clicking sound.
When I got the camera back the work order that came back with it listed under "Examination/Request Details":
"UNIT HAS CLICKING SOUNDS. CHECK ALL FUNCTIONS, REPAIR TO GOOD WORKING ORDER."
Under the "Service Details" it said:
"We have examined the product according to your request, and, it was found that the optical assembly was inoperative there was no display on the LCD The optical assembly was replaced. Other inspection and cleaning and parts replacement were carried out. *CXB19I17*
No mention of the clicking sound repair under the service details. The clicking sound is gone and the camera seems to be working ok.
Should I be concerned about the 5,303 picture gap in the file numbers?
Sorry this is so long.
