i just messed around with another negative on a lightbox, and with the colours also, and attached below. It is quite a 'dirty' picture with bags of noise, and some scratches (from the negative itself) but I like this dirty, grungy style. Maybe I should just go back to film : )

PS. this photo was taken 2 weeks ago on a RollieflexT, negative processed, placed on a lightbox, and a quick repro job done with the 350D. I left all the noise in as I like it, but with such a clumsy repro job, it would be a lot of work to get this image clean.... hardly related to developing 40 year old film ( sorry ) but just something to share..

This has been a very frustrating sojourn. It’s almost as if the film does not want to get developed. I had sent the film in months ago. After 2 weeks I had not heard from the company so I gave them a call. They said that they never received the film but would check. They called back the next day and confirmed that they had never received the film. A trip to USPS and several frustrating hours later I was able to confirm that it truly was not delivered and they were unsure where the package was. It took the USPS over a month, but the package was finally found and I now have it back in hand. I am planning on shipping back to the developer but not until I return from vacation. Also, I refuse to use the USPS. Their handling of this whole thing was abysmal. Though the package was found, no one can tell me anything about what happened and their whole tracking system was a joke.

Well, procrastination is one of my specialties. I had sent the film in and they had lost it for quite a while. After getting it back finally I locked it up in my film locker meaning to get back to it after returning from a trip. Well, one thing lead to another and the film is still in my film case.

There is another thread that has once again peeked my interest so I am intending on trying again. I really do what to see whats on that roll, but other stuff seems to always get in the way.

I had a roll of colour film (35mm) developed that happened to be in a 2nd camera that I bought in a flea market. I wanted to develop it to get an insight into who previosuly owned the camera. The film I guess was ~15 years old judging by the fashion of the people in the returned images. The images were visible but rather cloudy. I think B/W film survives longer, but it also will depend on how the film was stored... (cooled in a fridge will probably help ... )

I know that Ektachrome is a good film for colour archive photos, but i think the colour remains 'archival' after developing, not before (assumption)

Anyway, all the best :)
