Definitely :D

Do you have a flickr account? If not, please sign up for one, takes but a few minutes and then link up with me through flickr (my flickr can be found on my signature) and I'll send you the invite!

Thanks!

this just in...
save the dates! Oct. 4th and 5th...

you spoke. we listened. we checked our calendars and we have decided to have another workshop sooner than later.

with cory going to japan at the end of october and me going in november and with the holidays, unless we do one now, the next possible workshop wouldn't be until next year january/february.

sooooo... we decided that it would be nice to give you all a little more time to mark your calendars for Oct. 4th and 5th at the Honolulu Academy of Arts at Linekona.

two topics are confirmed:
1. "In the Beginning" (ITB) - we are repeating the basic/intermediate workshop for those that missed it the first time because it will be a requirement (or by portfolio review) for the advanced lighting workshops.

2. a more detailed 'strobist' class to get the most out of your camera flashes. we touched on this a little bit in the ITB class, but we will do more in depth demos and diagraming...and of course, the class assignment. =)

a third class will me the more advanced class (portfolio or ITB required) that is still yet to be figured out. it will depend on our ability to get some lighting gear, either rented, shipped in or from sponsors. stay tuned!

once we figure out costs, we will post the information on our blog and leave a message here. mahalo!

freaking sweet! i would definitely like to attend the strobist class. I definitely need to learn more about lighting. have you used those Chinese transmitters Cory has been raving about?

would my sportsshooter qualify me for the advanced class? http://www.sportsshooter.com/kentnish (external link)

haven't used the transmitters, but cory demo'd them in the ITB workshop.

and your sportsshooter page won't get you in the advanced class. sorry. you either have to take the ITB workshop or pass a test or have a portfolio that demontrates advanced lighting abilities. although i'm thinking just the test, cause there are a few light theories you need to know and understand.

i know it sucks, but trust me, you'll thank me later. some of these things i use all the time without even thinkng. it's just second nature now, but if i didn't know it, i wouldn't be able to make lighting decisions as quickly.
