The visibility was outstanding today. Used the diffuse glow filter.

Added another, Waihee Valley from the ground. Used a Hoya CPL.

Love that lighthouse shot, Lincoln. I noticed the Waianae range looked really clear to me today--looks like it was like that on the other side of the island as well.

man... weight talk,
when i visited during the summer for 6 weeks.. i gained like 15lbs.. i felt so disgusted when i was going back to japan..
i rarely ever eat fast food, maybe like once every 3 months.. but my brother likes it.. and he would buy for me witout asking.. and i would jus eat it anyways.. i think i ate fastfood over 10times in the first 3 weeks.. and i always get it super sized and like 10pieces of chicken nuggets on the side..
but i enjoyed eating back at hawaii.. jus for the sheer amount of meat i could eat for the price, meat is so rip off here..
i think now my problem in japan is eating alot of rice.. i told my wife after this bag of rice is gone to buy some brown rice.. we only ate brown rice back at home in hawaii.. and i think just from that i lose some weight.. im surprise i dont lose more while im in japan, especially since i dont drink

like about 6 years ago.. i lost almost a 100lbs.. some where around mid 90 lbs i think, but that was in probably like a 1 year span.. i wish i could get back into that mind set again.. i knew how much calories n stuff was in everything.. would never eat any junk food at all.. and wasnt even tempted..
now i easily eat this or eat that...
its pretty funny too how i first lost the majority of the weight.. well everytime i exercised i took xenadrine or hydroxycut, i only took it when i exercised tho.. and that would give me such a crazy headrush everytime i sit down and stood up.. i almost passed out every time.. but anyways.. i weighed probably like 280+ and i was too shame to go jog outside or anything.. shame and lazy... and during that time, all i did was stay home and play games on my computer, so after awhile i decided to jog in circles in my room for 1hour everyday.. and thats what i did.. and my room is super small, you add in 2 beds, 2 desk, and theres like a 3x3ft left.. and i would jus jog in circles in that tiny little space... lol.. having music helped alot.. i would put enough songs to hit just 1 hour..and only rest inbetween songs or do pushups/situps
after that i joined a gym, and would go mon-thurs every week for a couple months, and lost about 5lbs a week , but after i lost all that weight... and even tho i lifted/exercised and eat healthy, i think it was too fast i lost the weight, because i was weak as hell.. i mean i could lift and run and stuff, but i think my inner body was weak.. i dunno.. kinda hard to explain.. so my lowest i weighed was like 186 or something... i was 20yrs i think during that time, and i was lighter then when i even entered high school and maybe somewhere around my intermidiate days too..
but i gained probly like 20-30lbs back within the next year.. then some more as the years went by....

sorry for the long read

Damn, Tommy, I wish I could lose 100lbs. About 5-6 years ago I lost around 50-60lbs, but I put it back on. I actually kept it off for a year or two but I got lazy and it came back. I'm hoping to lose more over the next year but I have to watch myself this holiday season to make sure I don't overdo it. As long as I keep up with the exercise I should be pretty good.

Went to Ho Ho's Chinese Buffet (all you can eat) last night for dinner, though, so I'm off to a bad start this week. But it was for a good cause, one of my co-workers is leaving at the end of this week so I took him to dinner. I was only able to make it through 1 and a half plates this time, so my stomach shrunk a bit since the last time I went there--I usually do two full plates easy and sometimes a little more.

yup that's her.
ya I used my 430ex with stofen on camera (didn't even think to take the stofen off ), but shooting RAW was the life saver.

She went to school where I work and was a student helper there--graduated two years ago I think. I always thought she was pretty--I have a picture somewhere that I took of her and a couple of other girls after a Halloween costume contest.

ya i think i'm gonna bite the bullet and go with the IS, so looks like i have to save 'till next month for a new lens. hmm i could get a used 24-70 and wait for my cousin to buy the 70-200

Once you buy it you won't regret it--it's just the buying part that kills you. 24-70 up on craigslist now: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/pho/860478981.html (external link)

There's a Canon 15mm fish too: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/pho/860672287.html (external link) . Still want to pick one up someday.

Anyone use a 1.4 extender? I was thinking about getting one if I get the 300 f4--I could use it on that as well as my 70-200mm, but not sure if it'll affect the IQ any. I rented one (and a 2x) a while back but wasn't that impressed with it (on 5D with 70-200), but don't think I gave it too much of a chance. That was on my 5D, on my 1D3 with the 300 I would be getting a 546mm at f/5.6. Of course that would be 672mm on a 50D :p...

This is a weird question, but I thought maybe one of you guys might have an idea for a place that holds maybe 150 people for a retirement party that would allow us to bring our own food and wouldn't be too expensive (but would also be nice). I'm trying to help plan this party for the end of November and they really want to cater from a specific place but don't have a place yet. Any ideas? I'd say that it'd be way easier to go somewhere that already caters, but they're sticking to the outside caterer for now.

man... weight talk,

I've been trying to get in shape recently too. I've never been fat, I'll admit. However I've always had some extra baggage that has made me really self-conscious. When I joined the high school judo team in 9th grade, I was one of the lightest guys. I was probably around 135. Then in 10th grade I was one of the heaviest (although there might have been some height gain too) at about 175. Throughout high school I fluctuated between 185-175, but Judo kept me in okay shape. Then I went to college, and eating at the cafeteria every night is WAY unhealthy. Our caf sucks. It's all you can eat, and the food is not the most healthy. I gained about 20 pounds, and went up to around 195. That's where I've stayed until fairly recently (I'm now a junior) and I finally decided it was time to get my butt in shape. So now I've been biking to school and work, running at night, and taking a judo class. I don't know how much weight I've lost since I don't have a scale. I don't really care about the weight, I just want to get toned haha. I need to get a girl somehow...

The best places for that situation is a recreation center. Maybe the DAV at Keehi Lagoon Park? How about asking the caterers to suggest a place?
