A landscaper needs 4 night shots of 2 landscaped houses. He wants the shots in RAW, to use on a flyer he is going to send out. I don't want to send out RAW. He said he can do the job himself if the price isn't right. Whats a good price for 5 shots? Travel time is minimal.

I just have to chuckle at this guy. I would tell this guy "Well, go knock yourserlf out then if you can do it."

Do a search on the forum. There are several very good threads on pricing which is dictated by publication amount, region, etc.

Let us know how it goes.

I always love this kind of comment in initial negotiations. You should have asked him how he responds when people say they'll do their own landscaping if his price isn't right.

Whats a good price for 5 shots? Travel time is minimal.... I'm turning down the job.

Well, I wouldn't turn it down out of hand. I'd tell him that there's only a 15 minute window when the light is "right", so it would take two nights to get 1-2 shots of ONE building IF the weather cooperated.
Then I'd tell him I could do it for $650 each. Let him scream. Negotiate. Maybe he'll pay more than you expected & you'll be happy. ;)

Why you want to wait for the right light & why it's worth it: https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=2205043&postcount=324

There was a security car there, but it didn't have a Hemi so I waited for it to get out of the frame? :D

its never good when they start with " I dont want to spend alot of money But". i would offer him a set of 10 shots for each house at a set fee. ask for $500 and a credit on the flyer. it should only take about an hour for each house with no PP who cares if he has the raw files.
was it Jay from Unique? if it was charge him $1000 for the set
