Hi there,
I was wondering if the tokina 12-24 can be used on a Mk2 (or is that lens an EF-S like)?
If so, I'm looking for samples pix...
I'm looking for something wider than my 17-40L
thanks guys

There will be varying opinions on this. In most cases, lenses for the APS-C system would vignette terribly on cameras with larger sensors. At Photodo there is a review on the Sigma 10-20mm that demonstrates this:

I suspect that the vignetting should be reduced as you zoom in, and it may be at an acceptable level even before you hit 17mm, which is currently as wide as your 17-40mm goes.

If you really want a compatible lens for extreme wide angle shots, there is the interesting Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6.

I second the 12~24mm Sigma for this combo. And the Sigma will even carry over and be SUWA(Super Ultra Wide Angle) there.

here's some of my shots with the combo:

I'd also suggest the Sigma 12-24 for anything above APS-C. Vignetting probably won't be as bad as it would with a modified EF-S lens, since the 3rd-party lensmakers are designing to cover the 1.5x crop of Nikon, et. al. not the slightly smaller image circle of Canon's 1.6x crop, but it's still a real issue.
