Dachbean you beat me to it! I suggest the OP look at some of the crumplers in the X million dollar home series or the Brazillion dollar home. The million dollar homes series are shoulder bags with designs similar to the diagram posted.

maybe if their website wasn't so um . . . I don't even know what to say about it :)

I like our design, we've looked at so many bags over the years, I'd had 7 in the past 2 years, so I'm pretty picky and know what I want in the bag. There will still be some minor changes, but the concept won't change much

Also Crumpler (here (external link)) are the seed buckets. The design resembles what you are putting together in a very significant way. After looking at your design and immediately seeing the advantanges, I am quite interested in the seed buckets. Hmm....

Corey, have you talked about production costs? I think that the risk is that the cost will scare people off, especially if it's done in such a small prodution, unless you have a larger company behind you. Even if you'll make the best bag ever, the one we all want and need, if the bag is going to cost 200 dollars, it's going to be a hard sell, unless your a big name in the industry.

Corey, i was just at our local Target and in the men's section, they had a messanger bag that might make a good design or even something to start with...it was only 19.99...nice brown canvas color...Not sure if they are everywhere..but..you can check it out. it may make a good pattern.

I love the boda bag... but the price is out of my range for a small bag like that.

Corey the option of wearing it around the waist is was really caught my eye... you should have that on your bag for sure....

thanks, we're really eyeing the Timbuk2 as a main style for the exterior. My wife is off to the fabrix store as we speak. Probably a canvs/ballistic nylon combo.

I think this one might be too big for that, but yeah I like the idea. Thats what I currently use and it works pretty well. We might have to make a slightly smaller version for that in the future.
