No, not me silly. The bands "name" is "Left Standing". These guys were the house band during the Las Vegas Grand Prix that took place Sunday April 8th, 2007.
I had never seen these guys before. They played old school rock, such as covering a CCR song called "Fortunate Son" etc, which they did quite well.
I was using the 85mm F/1.8 @ around F/2.5 for isolating different band members. Comments welcome.

I liked the interaction displayed here.

And even though this one is not technically perfect, I liked it as well.
Gotta love it when someone's head appears in the frame just as you trip the shutter.

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Reminds me of how hard it is to shoot in daylight ... one of those times when fast glass is a real asset in isolating the performers ... no great lighting effects or smoke or anything is really tough. As for the last one, I think the bigger the lens the bigger the magnet for heads ... I have located a few spots at the casino where I can shoot without having to monitor for wanderers who always seem to want to stop directly between me and the stage! In fact, at the last concert I finally lowered my 300mm f/2.8L IS because of "traffic" (I wasn't in one of my 'safe zones') and there was actually a woman who had taken to standing directly under my lens, dressed dark and I didn't see her at all and I lowered it onto her head ... this wouldn't be so odd if I was in a pit with a crowd, but this was back at the lightboard, 70 or 80 feet away from the stage, with a ten foot wide aisle and no one else in my vicinity ... but that's where she wanted to stand and watch!

Nice job for the conditions, Bruce!

Thanks Dwight. You actually lowered the lens onto her head? Thats too funny. ;)
Yeah, Mid day is not the best time for shooting outdoors shows, but thank goodness it was at least under the canopy of the Fremont St Experience, which was kind of like a huge sun screen. Still bright, but filtered.

Yup, if she had backed up any closer we would have been 'in flagrante delicto (external link)' but I didn't see her. I actually think she simply thought that I had some special vantage and she wanted to see what I could see. I am about 5'11" so the lens was likely about 5'7" so there was plenty of room for her ... but really, there was no one around for five or ten feet. I lowered the camera, felt a "bonk" and there she was apologizing at the same time I was.
