Anyone use their 50mm for landscape/cityscape photography? I typically use my 17-40 but have gotten good results with the 50, example:

I am mostly curious how many people actually use it for that, it doesn't seem like the norm most likely because it's lack of width but it appears that if you get the right distance it can do pretty well. EOS 350D

More info | Apr 12, 2007 15:36 | #6 Definitely. 50mm buys you distortion free images at a highly cost-effective focal length. Stitch if you need to go laterally wider. Ultra-wide lenses distort, are comparatively weaker in image quality (especially in the corners), push out a centralised subject and bring in unwanted foreground. Andy Brown; South-east England.
