I like the way Lightroom prints. It is much better than Photoshop. Currently I select my images and then go to the Print Module. From there I figure out what size I want to print of each image. Once I know that I will select either a template from my existing or create a new one. For here I will create a new one.
1. I select my paper size (I only have one printer) from one of my printer presets that I have already created. Here the preset stores the paper size, type, borderless or not, print quality, and sets color management to Manage by Application.
2. I set the number of cells per page by adjusting the rows and columns section.
3. I then set the cell size by typing in the values rather than dragging the lines on the preview page.
4. I adjust any margins if necessary.
5. I set color management to my profile, in my case I choose my printer+paper+ink (HP 2600+Premium Plus+tricolor+photo) and set Perceptual.
6. I set shapening to medium usually and 300dpi for resolution.
7. I add a new preset in the left panel with a descriptive name for the number of prints, size and paper size/type like maybe: 2-5x7 (8.5x11)
8. I click Print and then OK.
While Lightroom is better than PS I still have a problem with the way it functions and I don't know if it is just me or the program. I really don't see why it is so difficult to allow someone to print multiple size images on one sheet. My wife likes to scrapbook and I am constantly printing several small images (2x2, 2x3, 3x4, 3.5x5). Before I would have to create a new contact sheet everytime I needed to print because the nember of prints always changes. Image Zone, the software that came with my HP printer has better functionality for printing and it was free with the printer. I can choose what size paper (8.5x11) and then select what size and quantity of each print and the program fits all images on the page or multiple pages. Adobe needs to take note here IMO.
