I was just wondering if any of you have gotten into sticky situations with a pregnant bride. Do you accentuate the belly, pretend it isn't there, try to hide it or let it be glaringly obvious? Is one set of parents excited, while the other are horified? I shot a wedding last weekend, 17 yr old, 7 month pregnant bride, 18 yr old groom. I knew the situation pretty well, but thought it would be an interesting thread. Any thoughts?

Sorry here is a litte better version of the 2nd shot. I haven't figured out how to resize for the web in the best possible way.

Well, I would aim to shoot for everyone. Of course do the close ups, where the belly isn't visible. Of course also do shots where it is, and shots like you have above. I think it's a very responsible thing for them to get married before the child is born regardless of preference.

I know my answer is pretty general, but I think if you satisfy everyones needs in something like this, everyone will be happy. I don't knwo their parents, but I know plenty of parents who would make some comments about the girl visibily being pregnant during her wedding. So with your close up candids, and poses, they would be happy.

Bride and Groom will love all the shots no matter what. I think the most important things for them is to have some shots that show the baby "being there in the marriage".

I hope I make some sense...

The only answer is what does your client want. It can not be answered any other way.

ASK!!! The only way you'll know if they want the belly to show in the pictures is to ask. Don't second guess your clients!
