My beloved Calicokat passed away Wednesday April 11th. She was 17 years old. She lived a long and loving life. I have had her since I was in the 8th grade. I am very sad, but happy for the life and love she gave me all those years

She was also my model for much of my photography learnings over the years. Always a willing and available model

So sorry, but as you said, you had many years together. What more can we ask for? Hope you can get through this one.

I am so sorry to hear that. At the same time it only makes me think, my own cat just turned 17, and though he seems like a kitten at times, I know the reality.

I know words are meaningless at a time like this, but she will live on in your photography and in your thoughts.

Thank you, I am glad I got to spend so much time with her, she was a great photography subject :)

So sorry to hear of your loss. Your cat was so fortunate to be cared for...
There is another out there that needs your help. :)

I know, we will welcome a new addition to the family in due time. Our puppy was very sad, still is. She grew to love the cat and now she misses her

Even when you know they're getting old, even when you feel the time is coming it still wrenches the heart. I'm sorry to hear about it but she'll certainly live on. Thank you for capturing the moment while you could

Jim, so sorry to hear of the passing of your cat. I was quite shocked to see this thread.

Treasure the photos. Equipment, especially premium equipment comes at a very heavy price, but all it takes are a few priceless photos to make it all worthwhile.

A wise photog once said to me, buy the best damn equipment you can, and use it the best way that you can. For in many things in life you only get ONE shot - you may as well make it the very best that you can.
