I'm sorry about your cat. I'm sure you'll really treasure those photos. She's a beautiful cat.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You've captured some beautiful moments and memories in your photos of her.

Thank you, her memory does live on through the photos, she will always be remembered around here too, her name is my screen name :)

Even when you know they're getting old, even when you feel the time is coming it still wrenches the heart. I'm sorry to hear about it but she'll certainly live on. Thank you for capturing the moment while you could

I felt the exact same thing, I did not want to think of this day, I tried to convince myself it would never happen, but this is God's way

Jim, so sorry to hear of the passing of your cat. I was quite shocked to see this thread.

Treasure the photos. Equipment, especially premium equipment comes at a very heavy price, but all it takes are a few priceless photos to make it all worthwhile.

A wise photog once said to me, buy the best damn equipment you can, and use it the best way that you can. For in many things in life you only get ONE shot - you may as well make it the very best that you can.

Thank you my friend, I really appreciate the kind words

Shame ... I have two cats, brother and sister, since they were 6 weeks old and we have been buddies since the very first day. Cats are Zen Masters and can teach us much and so their influence lives not just through photo's but through how we ourselves are ... in my experience anyway. Few people can love with the non-attachment of a Cat and few can walk a narrow ledge 20ft high without an apparent care ... but we can at least aspire to those things in life.

Thank you for the kind words. I agree that cats are special, I love the line from Meet the Parents by Robert De Niro, I am not exactly sure off the top of my head, but does anyone know how it goes

Like losing a close relative, they need to increase the lifespan of family pets. nobosy likes to lose a oved one so soon.

Great shots for the occasion too. Too cute.

Aww shoot .. sorry to hear ..

My lil girl Shasta .. (CFA Tonkanese Seal Point) just turned 14 .. and she really does still believe that
she's a kitten .. I was editing last nite, and caught her on her chair, yes she has her own computer chair lol.
She was playing with her tail as she was grabbin it and stuff, and I just shook my head ..

Glad you spent quality time with CalicoKat .. My Shasta is like a child to me ..

sorry to hear that Jim, i am not a cat person but i know how hard it is to lose a pet sincei lost my dog that has been with me for 14 years. however, you are looking at it in the right way: she had a great life with a loving family and the memories that she has given you will live on forever.

Sorry about your Calicokat. I have an older cat now (she's 15) and her health isn't what it should be, but she's still got awhile to stay with us longer, plus all the rest of my animals still play with her. I did have a cat, Mr. Bilbo Baggins, that reached the ripe old age of 21.

Calico, Both my wife and I send our condolences and a prayer that your loss will be more bearable as time goes by, it is an awesome thing to have a relationship with an animal at the level that you and your kittie did, and I am sure that sometime soon some little curtain climer is gonna steal your hearts again, I am feeling your loss as we have lost before too! Take care my friend. Dale and Deborah.
