Ok now I know this sounds like a stupid thread already, but hear me out! I like the 24-105. It's great, it's nice to use, whatever. But my god. You guys weren't joking. The 35L on FF is AMAZING. I feel like it's the only lens I need! I've been using it exclusively the last 2 days without any need for wider OR longer. I'm basically just saying, you guys were right, and I shoulda believed you all from the beginning. The 5D and 35L are an amazing pair. I can't imagine the 85L or the 135L......

Thanks for hearing my praise.

Funny, I used to think so as well. And I still adore my 35L. But lately I'm really liking the 24-105 on a FF body.

I like the 24-105. Took a whole bunch of shots around teh house, the IS works great. I've got a 24-70 coming too so I can give them both a good run and see which one I'd like to keep. The 35L's only drawback so far from the pictures I've taken and it's definitely user error, is the 1.4 av is so shallow on FF you have to be DEAD on with the focusing. Gets annoying but I'll live.

Well that's why they're called the Holy Trinity. I presume the bokeh on the 35L will be in the ranks of the 85L & 135L (and currently the 50L as well).
Congratz and show some pix!

I have always liked the FOV of a 35mm lens on FF (35mm) cameras, to me it's more of a 'standard' lens than the 50mm is reputed to be.

I only use my 50mm on my 5D with no need to change. It's the perfect focal length, thats until I try a 35mm. I could only imagine how sweet that'd be.

My favourite combination.

Took this snap today, shot @ f1.4:

IMAGE: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/240/458752288_eb1d9b748f_o.jpg

That's basically straight out of the camera aside from a little sharpening.

All the photo's in THIS LINK are with the same combo :)

p.s. the 85L & 135L are excellent too, and am hoping the 24L which is currently winging its way to me is just as good :D

You need to contact Lord Malone August 'cause he has a new product line designed to run alongside his well know Manties brand (men panties). Specially created for guys who have 'special feelings' for their gear.

He's called them Camties and they are for guy who like to dress up their photo gear in flimsy, slinky silk pants and bra sets. All items are faux fur edged and they're available in a range of dayglo and pastel colours. Not sure if B&H stock them, but he can probably supply to you direct.

Where do you people get $1000+ to shell out on a lens. :(

I work for months just to get my "cheap" Tamron 17-50.

Anyways... :D
