Hi. I purchased a Sandisk UltraII 1GB SD memory card for my new Canon SD700IS. Everything was fine at first - so i thought. I took a bunch of pictures, and then all of a sudden after about the 30th picture, I got a dreaded "MEMORY CARD ERROR", and lost everything. This is repeatable, and yes I did format the card for the 700IS.

I first complained to Sandisk, but this particular Canon Model is not on their approved list for the UltraII. I don't think it's a memory card issue either because I put the card in my Canon Optura 50 Camcorder, and filled the memory. Canon, simply tells me to try another brand of memory.

I'm wanting to buy another high capacity memory card, but am a bit leary of which brand/speed to purchase. Can anyone can tell me which high speed memory cards are compatible with the Canon SD700IS?

By the way, my brother in-law went out and bought the same Camera after me, and the same memory - and he has the exact same problem.

Thanks,
Garth Anderson

I don't think that's the problem. A friend of mine has the SD700IS and uses the exact same card with no problems.

I agree - my wife uses the 2 GB ultra II in her SD600, and I use it in my A620, with no problems. If you're having a problem with that one card, try another card. It might be either your specific camera or it might be that the card is bad.

Edit: Please don't re-post in another forum just because "someone" tells you you should. Either report it to a moderator and ask us to move it, or leave it where it is; If we think it should be moved, we'll take care of it.
