So i'm new to this board but here's a shot of an A319 flight deck taken with my 10-22. I didn't want to annoy the crew by using my flash to light up the interior of the flight deck so I decided to just meter off of the skyline outside then try bring out some details of the flight deck later by way of a single RAW HDR.

I'm guessing the picture came out overexposed because of the sun. I've taken a few of of these and found it easy to process...

Thanks guys. Yep automation has gone a long way since the old 747-200's. To the point of where the Airbus drivers don't even have to touch the power levers, they just set it to a takeoff detent then pull it back into a second detent for what i'm assuming is cruise climb, cruise and descent. The only time they ever touch it after that is when the Airbus tells them "Retard, Retard!"

Cbock, I had to do some HDR work on it to try and bring the details in the shadows out without blowing out the highlights too bad. Took about 20 minutes of trial and error since this is my first HDR but wasn't too bad overall.

Radal, Yep I work for an airline and happened to be catching a ride up front on my way to Vegas that day.

"Retard, Retard!"

That describes some of the pilots that have made the news lately? :D

Try using a Layer Mask. It's not as good as using two different exposures, but an Adjustment Layer & Layer Mask is easily reversible. Give it a try.

That was the problem. That and I didn't want to use my flash and annoy the crew. Though I might give it another shot at PP later but i'm satisfied for now.

Hah truthfully I think that comment more describes some of the new TSA rules that have come out lately.

Anyways, I might give it another go at pp later on when I get some more time. Thanks for the links, i'll take a look at them to see if theres anything different I can do this time around.

Sure am. If you just want a shot of the flight deck you could always just ask the crew before departure if there's enough time. It's not the same as in flight but most guys are friendly enough to where they'd probably let you if they're not in a rush.

Haha, it's all good. Just ask the lead flight attendant and they'll do the askin for ya. So long as you're not in flight anyways.
