Thanks for the points about the DoF scale; I had assumed that discrepancies existed due to, if for no other reason, the crop factor. However, for my use, quickly shooting folks at a relatively close range of between five to ten feet while using an f-stop between 4 and 5.6, the DoF scale has proven an effective method of pre-focusing, or maybe I've just been lucky. Anyway, for all other shots, I use the auto-confirm and, where possible, my eyes. More recently, I've been practicing on focusing on moving people instead of relying on the subject to move into a set focus field (if that makes any sense)…
A lot of this is a hit and miss endeavor, but that's OK, it's a hobby, and I enjoy the process…
And yes, I'll definitely do more research on the Voigtlander lenses…thanks for mentioning them…
