with all the presets now avalable free for LR we need some way to manage them without having a list as long as your arm that takes 3 days to scroll down for presets

Is there such a thing?

Couldn't agree more. I downloaded a couple of collections and already the list is twice as high as my screen. Takes some scrolling if what you want is at the bottom.

not sure if this is a feature wish or just instruction manualwish ( i.e. you can already do it but I can't work it out???)

Can anyone explain where Im going wrong please???

I put together a quick collection, sorted through them, deleted the ones that weren't 100% sharp, etc and was left witrh 18 photos. The original file on my HD has about 70 pics in.

I tried exporting as jpg to upload to my SM site but when I checked them after exporting they looked like they badly needed a dose of shadow/highlight filter ( they looked fine before exporting. I had set the options to sRGB and 302 dpi I wish the sRGB jpg option gave me better results

So I thought to myself -right now what I need to do is open them in photoshop and try saving as jpg from there perhaps that'l do better job., When I right click to open in PSHP it gives me te option to 'stack' (don't know what that is but click OK). No matter how many times I try it won't open them all in photoshop, only one at a time

So I give up on that route and tink I'll try to get them opened in camaera raw via bridge (wish 3) but only get them as far as bridge when I see leaves me baffled because the ones with an additional 'edit' in te filename I presume are the LR versions, but the 'edit' versions are nearer to the originals whereas the original files(unchanged filenames) have a bad dose of contrast added - Wish it was less confusing

and wish I could 'tag' files that I could see in Bridge then to open in ACR, so I don't have to inspect them all again to see which are technically perfect and which aren't

OT - but while Im thinking about it- I also wish there was a way to get bridge to stop what its doing, e'g' when I accidentally click ona folder with thousands of pics in it chunyters on for a year and a day and hangs if I try to get it to chnage to a different folder

Sorry - back to LR...

Micheal Tapes says that 'alt-1,2,3' etc toggles between modules

What it does is set keywords:evil: ;)

Keywording woes........

when I try to add a metadata preset to my pics in LR quite a lot get the flag that says there was a problem. I tried the retry option but that doesn't resolve it

The other option ( apart from cancel) is to 'Import settings from disk' what is that ? what is it trying to do- why does nothing happen?

Not sure you can do that, I would ask at the User2User forums tho, lots of Adobe Certified pros there.

There's also a list of them (organized a bit differently) for version 1 on www.lightroom-extra.com (external link) in the 1st FAQ section. I don't know whether they added or changed any from Beta 4 to the release version.

If (while still in the collection) you select PHOTO from the menu, a drop down will appear, select DELETE REJECTED PHOTO or you can use the keboard shortcut CTRL+BACKSPACE.

There are a lot of shortcuts that aren't documented in the LR Help though, such as "D" in Library brings you into Develop, "A" in Develop toggles the Crop aspect ratio lock, etc.

In Windows at least, this still only removes the image from the collection. It doesn't delete it.
