Wishlist of things I wish were different or better or added in lightroom
(i.e. not 'how to do things)

I wish there was:

- a warning dialog when deleting a 'preset' (I deleted one accidentally)

- Fully dockable tool bars.. all of them. Like PSCS, so the professional minded graphic artist can make use of that 2nd monitor the way God intended.

- More adjustment range on the white balance for Infra Red shooters.

Ahhh. I was listening to the podcast about that and they were explaining that in the time they had they had to optimise for the single monitor user rather than for the double MU, but that they were aware of the requirement

I wish that during Import from my CF card that all images would actually come in. I usually have to go back in and manually select between 3-5 or so images that "Could not be read" yet work fine the second time.

I also want the ability to use a contact sheet with multiple image sizes so that when I print scrapbook pics for my wife in various sizes (2x2, 2x3, 3x4, 3.5x5, etc) that I can use one piece of 8.5x11. Currently when you select multiple cells on a single page they are all linked and become the same size.:(

How about an Import function for the snapshot .RWS settings from my RSP files to LR History? This is the main reason I've decided to ignore LR until I upgrade to a unsupported camera.

I've noticed that behavior too! I second the requirement.

I also would like all my photos downloaded. Every download there are a few that can not be downloaded for some reason.

1. Perhaps better sharpening routines,

2. More powerful Clone/Heal Tool. Once an area has been "fixed" no further fixing can be done to that area, at least I can't make it work.

Cheaper Petrol? Come on, its getting expensive to drive around these days. Adobe, can you help?

Well, seriously, no big wishes just yet, as I am still playing with it, but I really like the 'COPY RECIPE' and 'PASTE RECIPE' feature in DPP, and find it easier to use than the 'AUTO-SYNC' in LR. Probably gets easier over time ;)

Although on LR you can Right Click Photo > Develop Settings > 'Copy Settings' > then on other photos Right Click > Develop Settings > 'Paste Settings' does the same thing as DPP 'Recipes', It is kind of hidden awkwardly in sub-menus. I would like to see 'Copy/Paste Settings' in the root of the Right Click Menu on LR.

A lasso tool (with feather) would be fun to include in LR, to alter brightness, tones etc selectively (just like in BigBrother PhotoShop) It is quite a big wish, but would make LR extremely powerful...

I want keyword tags to work more like in Elements, with "tick boxes" next to keyword name... also would like the option to see both RAW and Jpeg of the same name when they are in the same folder.

That, plus what everyone else mentioned above... does that make me greedy? :)

Despite all the hoopla and everyone going gaga for Lightroom, it still needs some work. It is a very nice app, but far from finished (then again is any software ever finished?). Hopefully Adobe will provide some "fixes for some of the issues mentioned, without users having to upgrade for some of the things mentioned above.

As for me, DPP continues to give me the colors I like, despite its many drawbacks, and without asmuch tweaking as I've had to do in Lightroom.

Still, I do covet that "recovery" tool in Lightroom :).
