My only real bugbear is with the print module, which seems terribly cumbersome however long you use it for. I would ideally like the ability to create custom page layouts and ideally for the print cells on these custom pages to work in the same way as the crop frame i.e. you could have an 8 x 10 print cell that acted as a window on to the photo(s) underneath. This would save for the most part having to do multiple crops for different print sizes.

Compared to RSP the sliders are sticky . The RSP sliders slide with ease and the fill light is better. The sharpening on RSP is awesome LR needs to get their default.

Is anyone doing anything with this Wishlist, e.g. like sending this link, or list to Adobe? Anyone got a contact there?

I've got this thread tagged now, I'll pass it back.

I am sorry to say that coming from Bridge and photoshop (and not to forget 'browsers' - so well thought out for navigation!) I do not find LR intuitive at all. I know I am probably the only peson on the planet who thinks this but this is a real bugbear to me.

It doesn't do things the way I expect at all and after an initial push to learn it I find I just don't use it because it requires so much thinking about and time to get into the right module do do what I want ( usually pretty simple things) I have no problem with the image adjustment controls themselves it is the navigation/importing/organisation that baffles me. (Examples already posted)

I know it's suppoised to simplify the process, and may well do if enough time is spent ofetn enough with it, but I use it perhaps once or twice a week.

No doubt I can get the hang of it eventually but it is highly unlikely I will ever upgrade unless that question is specifically addressed. As it stands, I find it entirely counter intuitive: despite buying LR I revert to Bridge even though it is so much slower simply because it works the way you expect it to.(concerning import/export/organisation/navigation)

You are not the only one. There are many whom wish to make LR a browser-type application but Adobe has said mant times that this will not happen. I don't mind the Database-type structure that is LR. In fact, I love it. I do find some things not very intuitive but as LR continues to improve I believe my quips with it will go away.

Well clicking or double clicking in develop does one thing but in library does another - so e.g. I am in develop and have done a few things with one pic, wnat to see what that would look like applied to a whole collection, in fact the collection that the pic is from , so I expect to double click or control click ( anything -click) to get the whole lot up and apply the preset (or whatever) but cant do so witout going back into library - knowing me though I have got that all wrong anyway:rolleyes:

Also folders don't do what I expect - I am going to have to spend more time learning - but time is not what I have at the moment

Part of the trouble I guess is that I just do not have time to apply to learning it thoroughly - So I find it frustrating

Have you ordered any books? Sometimes learning things on your own can take too long and learning from someone else can be much faster. The things you mention here seem to be some of the easier things in LR so I can see how you would get frustrated pretty quickly and revert back to something you are more comfortable with, like Bridge and PS.

Thanks. i would think that Adobe might get some good feedback from users on this site who are not quite so single minded as many on the Adobe forums.

Good suggestion Mike- but I doubt I'll have time to read them:lol: - seriously though - I just have so much on at the moment:evil:

Actually now I have got more of the navigation etc sussed - never had any problem with the image adjustment tools or the other modules, it just the initial organisation and navigation- I think I have got it now but I still don't like it

I like the image editing tools of lightroom and the DAM aspect as well. But getting photo's into lightroom is a pain. If lightroom can scan for missing photo's why can't it easily scan for new ones?

Because scanning for images already in the database is easy. Scanning for any and all photos would mean that any and all icons would end up in your library. I assume you copy images from your card to the PC out of Lightroom and then Import? You could put them in your watched folder. Then Lightroom would know you have new images.

If I could tell LR to watch a directory and scan it for changes that would be good. I don't need it to scan my entire drive(s). I can import manually, I just wish it worked a little better is all. I guess if LR was the only software that you used to move photo's around you'd be ok, but if you move stuff around outside of LR it becomes a pain to keep it's DB up to date... Looking forward to seeing what 1.1 has to offer.

Lightroom has what is called a Watched Folder. As images are placed into this folder they will appear in LR. You might want to look into it.

And yes, if yu move stuff around outside of LR it can be a pain to keep up with. This is why I move everything inside of LR.
