I too have a 20d and they are not very accurate I've found when comparing it to my Eos3's I had before going digital. Turned out my lens was out not the 20d. Have you not tried another body or two on the new lens. Btw, what's the smallest bird you shoot without it being too small in the frame? Im hoping to try the lens on my mates 1dmk2n soon so that would definately tell me if its a lens issue or camera issue. Pete
