Lovely sharp shot Peat. I really would love to have this lens sometime.

That's a real bummer...the focus issue. I had a lens that was a bit out and it drove me nuts at times, well all the time actually.

I too have a 20d and they are not very accurate I've found when comparing it to my Eos3's I had before going digital.

Turned out my lens was out not the 20d.

Have you not tried another body or two on the new lens.

Btw, what's the smallest bird you shoot without it being too small in the frame?

Wow, very nice. Wish I could come close to being able to afford that 500. Alas, other things need to get done first.

The shots are very nice...despite the issues you had with the camera/lens combo. Hope it works out for you, in the end.

Im hoping to try the lens on my mates 1dmk2n soon so that would definately tell me if its a lens issue or camera issue.
If I dont get a mk3 in the first shipment next month Ill probably have to send the lens or body in to Canon i think.

From what I've heard front/back focussing problems are lens issues and not camera body...

The second shot is an eye opener for sure!

As allready mentioned, Pete, these are about as good as they get. Perhaps we could swap lens, and I could try your 500 to verify any problems, lol.

Two nice shots but number 2 is a winner.
