This is what I want:
Budget: $350

  1. -7.0+ effective megapixels.
  2. -Image Stabilization
  3. -Digic III Processor
  4. -Manual Controls like A640.

I would have gotten the A640 but it only had the Digic II processor and no IS. I do not want to spend more than $350, im open to other brands if Cannon doesnt have one that fits my needs. Thank you very, very much!

:)

I recommend the PowerShot S3IS - have it a few weeks now and it is really fun! I think it also should fit into your budget.

S3 IS uses Digic II, not Digic III. Also it is 6 megapixel, not 7 like you listed.

The S3 may be better for you, but does not match the specs you listed. Go check them both out at a camera store.

I honestly do not like the S3, its a bit to DSLR like.

And I really want 7+ megapixels.

Right now something thats looking very promising is the Nikon P5000. Basically a Cannon G7 for $100 less.

Seems like you already know what you want without suggestions from this board. On the other hand, if you think the S3 is anything like an SLR, then maybe not!
