Can anyone let me know whether it's possible to change the position and size of the copyright info that Lightroom displays on the "preview" images it generates for web use?

It only seems to place it in the bottom left of the image, in fairly small size type.

I would like to place it across the centre of each pic, in quite a large font, also maybe varying the opacity.

Any ideas anyone?

I can't find a way to change the size, font, color or location. I sure would like to see something like that with the next version.

The size works fine for me if you use LR to downsize on export. But if you sharpen it after exporting, it makes the letters look bad.

Thanks Curtis, I can't believe they've omitted this option. They have allowed the "ID plate" to be placed/sized when exporting, but not the "copyright notice" when uploading via the web option.

That has just blown a hole in my new workflow!! Just when I was fealing pleased with myself!

TeeJay,

I can feel your pain and I too came across this. But I would sit tight. Look at photoshop and how long its been out and how much they have built and progressed.

LR is still a newborn, I am sure, soon enought, LR will grow to be as powerful, with all the fine tuning and options we need. Id still say for the very first release of LR, they did a fantastic job.

Wow, I couldn't agree more. Couldn't wait for my box to arrive so I've installed the V1.0 trial and have been playing (sorry, working) with it all day. There is so much to learn, but what a fantanstic learning curve!

If I'm not mistaken, the only current workaround for this is to create an Identity Plate with your copyright info, and select that instead - I believe you can size and place it anywhere on the image and set opacity. This would be true for printing, and I (hope) it's true for web. I say 'believe' as I played with it a few weeks back(read: long time ago), plus I'm not at my LR puter at the mo.

But generally speaking this is a faux pas on their part in my opinion and I should hope it's on their to do list by now (as it obviously didn't make it into 1.1).

I thought I had an answer for you, but I was thinking about the Slideshow option that would allow you to add custom text or Metadata presets. I think Curtis is showing the only way currently available in the Web module.

In the Export dialogue box, check the box next to "constrain maximum size". Select pixels, and enter the max width and height you want.

You actually write that info when you import your pictures. It's in the copyright field, whatever you write there will be used.

Apply it in the metadata section of the right panel in the Library module.
