I went hunting waterfalls yesterday. In 12 hours of driving (shoulda been 10, stupid maps!) I managed to see 5 waterfalls with a total of 9 cascades. It was supposed to be cloudy but wasn't, I forgot my quick-release plate so all are handheld, it's still a little early to see much green, and 2 of the waterfalls weren't worth disk space.

Complaining? Hell no! 5 waterfalls in 1 day? It was glorious! Spectacular. Exquisite. I probably would have had a heart attack if the day had been perfect. It was truly a wonderful day.

This one is Slatestone Brook Falls, and it's in somebody's back yard. No kidding. He's got lawn chairs set up in front of it, and it's 30 feet outside his office window. He said he stares at it when he's studying.

You think that's cool? This is the view of the Connecticut River from his front door, easily seen from the other window in his office.

Edit: Photos were originally switched. The waterfall is in his backyard.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

It *is* a little loud, though.

ROFL. Where should I go tomorrow?

I've got 2 plans so far - more waterfalls if it's cloudy, but if it's raining I'm going to a butterfly place and a plant conservatory (though I may need another indoor place for a full day). I just don't have a place planned if it's sunny - spring really isn't here yet, and I detest brown leafless trees.
