I stopped by a local train yard and took some pics. Not train pics but more like closeup, still life and abstract.

Play with PP a bit for that Velvia look

Stefan, I shot these at the trainyard in Milpitas near Calaveras. A pretty cool place to go after work to get your mind off stuffs :D

Interesting shots. That orange, though, lemme tell ya...POPS! The disc s a bit oversat'd, but otherwise I like the different textures.

eicu and inthedeck, thanks for the comments. In post process I used a filter to bump them up a bit for that velvia look.

I cant explain how amazing i think these images are. Your eye for a top notch shot is incredible! How much PP goes into these shots?

Out of the last set of 4, the first three are nice...the tank car, with the graffiti is interesting. The orange rectangle, with the polkadots, that's definately an eye-catcher.

Thanks for the comments guys. It was great to be able to go out and shoot when the weather was nice.

Cerbera, I played with curves a bit for constrast. I also used a plugin from Alienskin to pump the color. The plugin added more saturation to the red to for that velvia look in Fuji film. I sharpened them around 60/.6/1 and then localized contrast with 15/20/2. The last step really made it pop especially when there were dark and light area in the scene.
