We only use it under water because we (a: don't want to ruin our good cameras under water and b: hate the a620's shutter lag and no IS...). Husband has a G6 that he uses when he doesn't want to use the 30D. The G series is a nice addition to a kit (imo). .. It's Permie's world, we just live in it! ~CDS
