I have had digicams since 1996, sarting with the Kodak DC20 with a whopping 472 pixel width (or something like that). I got my first dslr in 1993 with the Canon 300D. I now have a 30d and the Can S3IS which I use a lot.

Anyone even remotely interested in photography should have a P&S. Not for it's IQ, not for its versatility, but for those times where your not wearing those pants with the giant pockets to slide your DSLR into them. :D

SD700IS here. Picked it up a few months ago and it works great. The IS is very nice and at 6mp it looks better than photos I have seen from 8 and 9 mp P&S cameras.

Only thing I hate is the lack of a battery meter to show how much batt is left (common complaint)

I still have my Nikon Coolpix 4500 from my pre-XT days. Still works pretty well (I think). Haven't really used it since I got the XT. Before the 4500, I had an A40. It is still around but it leaks a little light because I dropped it.

My wife has an S3 IS. I don't get to use it too much.

Yes, I have a Canon A85. I'm glad I kept it. Both cameras get used.

A95 and still use it for those times that the SLR is a bit too bulky.

The only thing worse than forgetting your favorite lens, is not bringing the camera in the first place.

Canon S400 and S3 IS...but I seem to be using them less and less unless I just need to pack light.

I have a Canon A95 that I purchased about a year before my 30D. My daughter likes to use it when I go out shooting. :) I use is occasionally for lightweight treks and macro shots.

I have a Powershot G2 that I bought when it was new. Heck, it cost almost as much then as my DSLR is worth now. Anyway, it has the same type of memory and the same type of battery as my 20D, and it pretty much will fit in a pocket of a pair of cargo pants or a coat pocket. Not only that, my daughter loves to use it.
It's still a great little camera.

Some people hunt with a gun. I use a Canon.
