Xs Drive Pro Problem

A couple weeks after I started using my Xs Drive Pro, the unit stopped turning off when I press the power button (thankfully it turns ON when pressed, and there is an auto-shutoff after about a minute).

It's a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nontheless. I've tried rebooting the unit, etc. etc. but to no avail. Anyone else have this problem or know where to contact Vosonic regarding warranty repairs?

Dave, I do not have that particular model, but on mine, pushing the power button turns it on, but it does not turn it off. When I am done with CF card copying, I simply let it time out and turn itself off.

I have a X's Drive Pro and mine does the same. I turn it on with the button and let it turn itself off.

heh, that's funny. I distinctly recall the power button initially DID turn the power off, it must be some sort of flaw in the electronics.

More likely, the first time you used it you hit the power button at the same time it had timed out, so you assumed that the button press did something. That is a logical mistake. I had to play with my X-drive quite a bit to figure out what did what.

Nope, wrong.
That's what I thought when I saw this thread with three people talking about the same exact malfunction. Just out of curiousity, I went to Vosonic's website and downloaded the user manual for that drive, and..... indeed, that power button is meant for ON and OFF.

I agree, wrong. The power button did function as an off switch as well, there's no doubt about it. I'm just glad for the auto-power-off function otherwise it'd be totally useless.

Some "off" switches have to be pushed and held for so many seconds to get it to turn off.

I have a an x-drive pro too and you have to hold the button a bit longer to turn it off indeed.

[edit]
The manual states that you have to hold the power button for two seconds to turn it on or off. So if you're able to put it on, you'd probably know that you have to push it a bit longer.

I don't have any problems pushing it on or off

mine works....

I bought mine about two months ago and use it very often (since I have been traveling a lot). It turns on and off no problem. I must say that the power button is rather poorly designed, though.

I also had it turn off by itself when connected to a pc, and while viewing pics in the FileViewerUtility. This crashed the program and I got to use my favority Windows key combo --- Ctrl/Alt/Delete

Nope, I've tried everything, I can hold it for 30 seconds to no avail. It just won't turn off. Definately a design flaw. I was trying to get a hold of Vosonic's customer service but I fear it's non-existent!

Same here, but in my case I don't care. The drive works fine, the time to turn off is short.

The only thing I don't like is that it is slower to transfer from CF to internal HDD then it should be.

The company changed its name at least once within the last year.
