I don't know if the new version will solve your problem but it has some neat new features such as showing long file names.

I found that the drive won't time out and power down, if the AC cord is connected, and it is mounted to the PC. If the connection has been idle for a while, and I unmount the drive from the PC (eject USB), then I unplug the drive USB cable, it powers down, even if it is still on AC power.

Apr 26, 2004 15:59 | #19 Nope, it definately is a hardware problem. Melody from Vosonic (Taiwan) actually replied to my service request and suggested I send the unit in for warranty repair, this is a fairly common problem it seems.

Ovi when you say that shows long file names, do u mean just on the drive when conneted to PC, or on the LCD screen?, cause for me on the LCD screen there only DOS lengh
