Ok, you all talked me into an "L" lens a week or so ago (70-200mm f/4L). Finally got to take a few photos in the back yard with it today.

As if by magic, a duck wandered through the yard! I swear from reading these forums that ducks are attracted to the "L" lenses...

:)

ROFL

It's all IanD's fault, I swear. He must be telling the ducks and geese about the L magic....

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

I'm a week or two away from my 100-400 "L", so this is what my ducks have been looking like. I hope the "L" lens will straighten this out

In Michigan, they're "Mall Gulls," as they tend to hang around mostly in the parking lots of malls...

Yes, it is. I really like the water drops off of the duck, and you can really make out the downy feathers on the lower lateral aspect. Great shot. Did you use a tripod?

Its not the lens, its the color of the lens that the ducks go for. Don't you know that by now. You don't see too many ducks hanging out around Nikon forums, do you? :P

Boy, am I dumb. All along I thought that the "D" in 10D and 300D stood for digital.
