Was thinking about getting this small backpack for vacation... anyone used one, and have any comments?

I'm only planning on carrying an XT, 2-3 lenses (200mm longest), flash head, and other small photo gear. I saw it was able to hold a tripod on back, how well does that work?

Thanks

I just got the Expedition 5, and it's a great backpack. I remember after I got it I was browsing some mags at Barnes&Noble and it was the 2nd cheapest of 6 and got the highest rating! So the 3 should be just as well-made and economical.
As far as the tripod goes, don't expect to carry anything big and heavy. It's gotta be small and light. My Induro C014 fits great in my 5, but my Slik 700DX defenitely will not.

Support by Slik and Induro. Transport by Tamrac. Processing by the seat-of-my-pants. Screw-ups by myself!

Just make sure everything will fit. I have four bags now. Finally went with the Expedition 7 because I needed something that would handle my 400 5.6L as well as other "stuff". I will second what the previous poster said. The Expedition series seems to be a very well built series of packs. I am very happy with it.

Great thanks for the posts...

I just ordered it... figured about the tripod, be nice if mine fits, but if not, its not a huge loss. Clip on accessory system seems interesting too... nothing I need right now, but could be useful if I take while hiking to hold a drink or other accessories. Either of you get any of the accesories for it?

Had one as my first bag, just sold it b/c it wouldn't fit my new 70-200L. Good bag, comfortable, no complaints.

I have one of these. I bought it used for a cheap price. I really like it -- it is well made and well designed.

As someone else mentioned, I recently bought a bigger bag because the Expedition 3 would not easily fit my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. However, I still use the bag. For example, I recently went on vacation with the family to Williamsburg VA. I threw in my 300D, Tamron 28-75, Canon 10-22 and a few other items and it was great to carry around.

Oh, forgot to add that I did get an accessory pouch for my Sigma flash. It attached easily to the outside of the backpack and protected the flash well. This is a great feature of Tamrac bags.

My latest bag is a Tamrac CyberPack 9, and I can use the accessories with this bag, too.
