Does anyone know if it's possible to open a photo being edited in Lightroom directly into Photoshop? Do the two programs interact with each other?

Except, if you are editting .JPG files, CS2 wont know about the "non-destructive" changes made to the image.

If you are editting in LR then want PS to recognise the changes made (to .JPG files), you'll need CS3.

However, if you are editting RAW files in LR->PS, you wont have a problem.

I thought that if you are editing in LR and tell LR to open the file in CS2 it will "export" with the proper adjustments already made.

It says above that one option is to edit in PS with the LR changes intact - meaning, presumably, that you have to save the jeg as a copy, or under another name. Most of my stuff is in RAW, however, so I won't have much of a problem.

Also exports to other programs just fine... just tell it whatever program you want to use in the preferences.

Mike, just relaying what I read over on Adobe's site. They say that the non-destructive changes made to a .JPG are stored in a format that is not receognised in CS2 and that if you make changes, then open the file in CS2, you will only see the original, unchanged, file. (must say I haven't tried that option yet)

What they dont say (from memory) is whether they mean "manualy open CS2, then navigate to the file, and open the .JPG - resulting in no changes being visible....

or, whether, "Right click in LR, select Open (in CS2) and changes are still not visible.

... if you get my meaning?

Yup, I understand . I guess one could try it and see what happens. I don't shoot jpeg but could easily do some testing should I get the time.
